Village Election
Notice is hereby given that the SPECIAL ELECTION for the Village of Afton, NY, will be held Wednesday, March 18th, 2020 from noon to 9p.m. in the Susquehanna Room, Afton Community Center, 105 Main Street, Afton, NY.
Officers to be elected are:
1- Mayor for 2 Year Term.
1 – Trustee for 2 Year Term.
The candidates running for these positions are:
Janice Nickerson – running for a 2 year term as Mayor.
Robert Humphrey Jr. – running for a 2 year term as Trustee.

Public Meeting January 21, 2020
The Village of Afton Board of Trustees will be holding a Public Meeting at the Jack D. Bolster Community Center, 105 Main Street, Afton, NY on Monday, January 27, 2020 at 10 a.m. To meet with Brendon Becker from Lamont Engineers, P.C. to discuss the grant the funding that the Village was awarded.

Village of Afton Yard Debris Pickup

  • Grass Clippings / Mulch / Weeds must be bagged at no more than 40 lbs.
  • Sticks & Limbs should be no more than 4 ft. long / no more than 3 inches in diameter & stacked together
  • Village will pick up storm debris only – Not trees being cut by the property owner or renter
  • No scrap lumber or garbage
  • There is a metal dumpster at the DPW garage for metal ONLY!
  • Pickup of large metal objects can be arranged with the DPW (Washers, Dryers, Stoves, etc...) call 639-1903. Please leave a message, name, and phone number. Someone will contact you to arrange for a pickup.
  • During the Fall time ONLY – Leaf vacuum is for leaves. No sticks, no mulch, no stones, etc…

Village of Afton Parks Committee

The Village of Afton has formed a Parks Committee. Its purpose is to gather public input into the upgrade of parks and development of Village owned properties. This effort is being made to turn these properties into efficient recreational spaces that will be accessible to all Village of Afton and surrounding community residents. The committee will meet monthly to review ideas and outline plans for the completion of these projects in an established timeline. All community residents in the Towns of Afton, Coventry and the Village of Afton are encouraged to attend meetings and/or submit ideas to:
